Anyone in or been to France this week?
I'm driving to Brittany on Saturday via Euro Tunnel and want to know if the petrol crisis is as bad as the media are making out? Will fill up in the UK but probably won't get me all the way there.

Cheers brethrens

Saw a tv reporter at a garage in Dover this morning talking about everyone filling up before they crossed the channel and all the stress it was causing people. Not one word about the profiteering cunt of a garage owner clearly selling unleaded at 123.9 per litre!

plastic ones are fine. I have one for a strimmer. Its fair to say some plastic melts when in contact with petrol.

Re: Anyone in or been to France this week?
Correct me if I am wrong but I think that plastic fuel canisters we have here in fuel stations, are illegal - think you have to use full metal jerrycan type things

That said I would be rather inclined to take my chances

Just got back from Brittany last night. Some of the petrol stations are closed due to running out. Queues at those still selling, but not more than 20 mins. All of them limiting you to buy 20 litres though.

Not even had the fucking referendum yet and already the garlic-sucking frogs are acting up.

From what I hear from friends overt there, you'd be well advised to fill up before you get anywhere near Paris. Sounds pretty bad.

I live in SW France and no trouble here. My cars are full and last night I filled my motorcycle up and a spare 5litre container as going to Navarra Circuit in Spain Saturday. No queues or anything....

So you've filled all of your vehicles and filled a spare can.

Good job people aren't panic buying, which would exacerbate the problem eh?

Fair play to the frogs for defending their standard living.

Unlike the mild mannered, limp wristed shower of wankers we are in this once great country.

I too live in SW France, and there seem to be no problems down here.
From what I can gather the area mostly affected by the union aggro is the north. Apparently the government has ordered petrol stations in the effected areas to limit fuel to €30 a car.
I'd take a full jerry can of fuel with you.

Cheers willtell, is the north affected worse than the south?
